Lake Front Cabin
Rent by Owner on Lake Nantahala NC.
We had THE BEST time! My husband Adam has
already booked the Moonlight cabin for another weekend away in August so
we can compare the two. It is truly a gorgeous lake and the cabin was
great. We brought our kayaks and went out every day, we rented a boat,
and floated in the water off the dock. It was really enjoyable to just
be able to enjoy everything without the distraction of iphones and wifi
:) Also the cabin had a lot of things cabins usually don't have, like
extra paper towels and trash bags, so that was a nice surprise! :) We
are really looking forward to another weekend away soon! Tiffany 7/16
We really enjoyed the cabin. The views and privacy was fantastic. I hope
to return, but this time I'm bringing my Kayak. It was the perfect place
to escape from a stressful job. My wife and I relaxed and did nothing
but enjoy the views and Hot Tub. We have a very nice house on another
lake in North Carolina, but it can not compete with the views at The
Fish Hook. Hope to return soon. Jerry & Wanda, Cherryville NC 6/11
We absolutely LOVED the "Fish Hook Inn"...we definitely got Hooked...and
can't wait to visit again...everything was perfect... Dave & Kim

This is definitely a do again place. We loved it. Only mistake we
made is didn't get enough supplies to stay without going out to
town. We will be renting again this year hopefully later this year.
Thank you, Angelo 5/15
We loved our stay in your
cabin. It was far more beautiful than the pictures we saw. We did
enjoyed our trip and so did the whole family. The kids had a great time
in the boat. We are still talking about out wonderful trip and we are
ready to go again. Thanks again and yes we would stay again. Doris.

did enjoy the cabin and the lake and all was just as described.
Absolutely the best weekend get-a-way money I have ever spent. All in
the cabin was in good condition and cabin was well cleaned. Thanks for
allowing us to weekend there, we will probably be back in the near
future. THANKS AGAIN. GENE. Lexington SC 6/11
We had an awesome time at
FHI. Everything was exactly as we remembered it last year, and we felt
like we were returning "home". The house and property were
perfect--everything was spotless and neat. I'd also like to thank you
personally, Walt, for all your help through the rental process. You
went above and beyond to accommodate us in every way, and you answered
my endless questions and requests as soon as I hit the "send" button!!
Thank you so much. Thanks again for a helping us arrange a
wonderful stay at the beautiful Fish Hook Inn. We will continue to
recommend you and FHI to everyone we know!!!! Take care (and stay cool),
Susan, Citra FL
The cabin was clean, smelled TERRIFIC, and was well-stocked with
everything that we needed. The photos and descriptions of the cabin on
your website do not do it any justice. The place is BEAUTIFUL, as is the
scenery. We all took turns in the paddleboat and went quite far in it, and
the water felt great to swim in. We enjoyed grilling out on the beautiful
huge deck, and taking in the nice breeze in the evening. It really, really
was the perfect vacation. :) Take care, and have a wonderful week, Rachel"

Thank you for letting
us stay at the fish hook inn! We had so much fun and it is great to
wake up and see such an incredible view of the lake. We will
definitely be renting again, hopefully next year! Krista, Decatur
Wow..... What can we say about this
cabin? It was a beautiful place, we loved everything about it!! I
think my favorite thing of it all was the layout of the cabin! I
loved it! The Hot Tub was wonderfully relaxing. The view was worth
more than a million dollars!! Thank you for sharing this with us, we
will always appreciate it!
We had a wonderful time in Fish Hook Inn... It was a great cabin, great
location, our family truly enjoyed it!!

We were very pleased and would highly recommend it to anyone..... Carmen
We had a terrific weekend at "Fish Hook Inn", and we plan to try to stay
there again next year if it's available. The house and property were
absolutely wonderful--everything was clean and neat and comfortable. We
also loved the seclusion and privacy. What a great place! We can't
believe that we were so lucky to find it. It was everything your website
described and more!!!! We also enjoyed David's pontoon boat. It was the
perfect way to tour the lake, and the kids loved fishing and swimming
off of it. Thanks again for all your help, Susan
vacation at fish hook was almost magical for us, we loved it and
absolutely will be coming back. Everything was perfect more than what I
imagined. Thanks a lot for everything and I appreciated the early check
Thanks a million Walt! Ehsan
We had the most relaxing
vacation that we have had in a long time. We loved the house and the
privacy. The hot tub was wonderful. Everything was so perfect right
down to the bathrobes. We enjoyed watching the fog lift off of the lake
each morning and the sun peeping over the trees as it was coming up in
the morning. I would recommend Fish Hook Inn to anyone who really loves
privacy, the lake and the mountains and waterfalls that we found on
Wayah Bald Road. Again, everything was perfect. Jennette
"What a great weekend! The
cabin was truly beautiful and we had a very relaxing time. Thank you."
"We absolutely LOVED our stay. As a matter
of fact, we're planning another trip there with some buddies, and we're
trying to figure out when we can make it--six adults (three couples), and
three kids (well, my kids are grown, but there will be a baby on this
trip) and we're trying to arrange our schedules before all of your dates
are taken up.
The trip was great. Our kids ("kids" being 21 & 18, and my son's friend
is 17) had a blast. We used the paddle boat and we also brought a canoe.
I hope that that will be the first of MANY of our stays there.
There's plenty to do in the area. The cabin is just a
short drive from the white water rafting and kayaking venues on the
Nantahala and Ocoee rivers. That's in addition to all the great
activities the North Carolina Smokies have to offer - Boating on
Nantahala Lake - You may bring your own boat or jet ski, or rent
a pontoon boat.
Fishing - A relatively low number of boaters makes Nantahala a great
fishing lake. You'll find walleye, crappie, sunfish, trout and bass
all available for your private fish fry at Moonlight Reflections. And
below the dam, where the river cascades toward the Nantahala Gorge,
you'll find some of the best fly fishing spots in the eastern US.
Horseback riding- Several nearby stables, including Lonesome Dove
Stables, offer guided trail riding.
Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, in nearby Dillsboro and Bryson City,
offers several scenic excursions. Mountain Biking - The nearby Tsali
trails offer some of the best mountain biking trails. Bikes can be
rented at the Nantahala Outdoor Center .
